ABOUT

Welcome to a vision for the future.

What I do.

I help schools on their inclusion journey.

My experience.

As a qualified counsellor, I supported the mental health needs of young people in schools for over a decade. During this time, I noticed a common thread that ran through the experience of the many students of colour/faith that I worked with. These students were only bringing a part of them to school.

As students reached adolescence,

My work with these students highlighted how suppressed identity can lead to academic underachievement.

My methods.

My methods centre on equipping schools with a framework to follow in their inclusion practice. Inclusion work, unlike other school improvement areas, requires a systemwide commitment. I see good inclusion initiatives often undone by a lack of consistency across other areas of the school. My framework allows schools to drive inclusion across all departments. These different areas of focus in my framework are referred to as ‘lenses’. From policy to curriculum, the aim is that the inclusion work is sewn together. My framework also ensures schools constantly evolve in their inclusion practice against the ever-changing backdrop of what it means to be a person of colour/faith in the UK.

My vision for the future is one in which all schools are intentionally driving their inclusion work in a systematic,

If we can help young people who hold the protected characteristics of race and religion/belief feel included in their formative years whilst also educating them white peers, we can create a generation of young people who push to create social change side by side.
